Newest Book Series Obsession

Okay, who doesn't LOVE Percy Jackson? No one that I know, for sure. Well, I would totally disown them if they didn't, but that's off topic. I just recently jumped onto the Percy Jackson bandwagon and I will never be the same since. My friend introduced me to it, and I finished the first series before she did.

Stop here if you didn't finish it. If you did, please, be my guest, read on.

Rant: Piper and Jason! My match made on Olympus. Not that I don't looove Percabeth (who the heck doesn't?!) but I love Jason and Piper. Piper is my total girl crush (other than Annabeth). Ahhh I just love her! Fangirl!
Rant #2: Percabeth in the House of Hades! They survived Tartarus together, dang, these two can do anything! BTW I haven't finished The Blood of Olympus, so I'm clueless as to Leo and Calypso, if Percabeth gets their happy ending, if Jason and Piper (what's their ship name? Jiper? Pason?) get theirs, and does Nico di Angelo find anyone, like, ever?

Okay kiss kiss,

My Cat's POV- Flute Playing

Hi people of the Internet who happen to be reading this! I'm Michelle, Eve's cat, and I'm taking over blogging for today!

So, today, my owner (the weirdo that she is) got out this huge silver metal thing that had buttons all over it. She called it a ffff-lllooooot. And suddenly, I heard a weird squawking sound COMING OUT OF THE FLOOT. Before then, the floot never made any noise, just a weird whistling noise. When I came over to investigate this floot, just sniff it a bit, she got really mad and yelled at me. I wonder if this floot is supposed to summon magical spirits with its squawking noises. Maybe that's why I'm never allowed to sniff it.

Uh oh, Eve is coming. I hope she doesn't have the floot. No squawking noises please!

Okay, I think I'll sign it

What if everyone spoke Latin?

Okay, so I take Latin. I know, it's a totally dead language, but we have to. So, imagine if everyone spoke Latin and English together, like, just some Latin words. Replace some English words with Latin words. The Latin word for never is numquam. The Justin Bieber movie, for example, Never Say Never, Numquam say Numquam. NUMQUAM SAY NUMQUAM! Or if someone is like, Never! I'll never bow down to you! It would be, Numquam! I'll numquam bow down to you!

Or, the Latin word for now is nuc. Think about when a mom says, Get down here right NOW! They would say, Get down her right NUC!

It sounds weird mixed with English, but I guess it doesn't when you speak fluent Latin.

Book Review: The Apothecary

The Apothecary, by Maile Meloy.

It’s 1952 and the Scott family has just moved from Los Angeles to London. Here, fourteen-year-old Janie meets a mysterious apothecary and his son, Benjamin Burrows—a fascinating boy who’s not afraid to stand up to authority and dreams of becoming a spy. When Benjamin’s father is kidnapped, Janie and Benjamin must uncover the secrets of the apothecary’s sacred book, the Pharmacopoeia, in order to find him, all while keeping it out of the hands of their enemies—Russian spies in possession of nuclear weapons. Discovering and testing potions they never believed could exist, Janie and Benjamin embark on a dangerous race to save the apothecary and prevent impending disaster. -The Apothecary

I first saw this book when I was at Harris Teeter waiting for my dad. I thought, dang this book looks good! I opened it, and 50 pages later, I was in love. It was love at first read. I had to beg my dad to buy it!

SPOILER ALERT:

The book ends right at the most exciting time!! And the second one is even better!

This is my very first book review but they're so much fun!

August Favorites

Favorite numero uno would be Michelle! Yes! I got a pet! Finally!! She's six months old and extremely lively (although right now she's sleeping), I can never get her to sit still for petting time! Ah, yes, the kitten days.

Favorite numero dos would be Calvin Klein one mascara! I absolutely love the volume of it, and it's a really good quality mascara. I would definitely recommend it!

I wore these so much this summer! I love the Faded Glory jean shorts from Walmart, I don't buy all of my clothes there, just some, but these are so comfy and just really good summery shorts.

And this game is just so fun! I have just been playing Hay Day every day, literally! I just love it so much!

A Winter Wonderland

Hello!
Long time, no see! We didn't have school today, yay!!!! So, as I was walking back from the gym with my dad, I saw a beautiful winter wonderland. The trees were frozen over with ice, and so were the grass and the bushes. It was so gorgeous, so I decided to take some pictures. As it was sunny outside, they might not be very good pictures, because I couldn't see, and I'm using my iPad's camera, which isn't very good. I'm kind of hoping to get a camera.....

The little green fuzz at the bottom is not grass, or photoshop, it's my green iPad case (whoops). It's probably going to be at the bottom of all the pictures. Sorry! But I think you can get the beauty okay.

This one might be my favorite ^^! I love how the bushes are white with ice. And the power lines are beautiful too.... lol

These are my neighbor's bushes. I don't know what kind of flower it is, but they're absolutely gorgeous!

Last picture, with the most green :( but the tree is still wünderful. I'm using my German there (I don't know German!)

Tea Time

It's time for tea!

So, I am officially obsessed with Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Tea. It's delicious with Nestle Girl Scouts Samoas cream. Another suggestion, Celestial Seasonings Peppermint Tea with any cream! I get them at Wegmans. Also at Wegmans, you can scoop your own green tea leaves. It's delicious!

Here's my favorite tea quote. It's from Henry James, Portrait of a Lady: “There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.”
― Henry JamesThe Portrait of a Lady. As for myself, I think tea time is anytime! I like to drink it while I'm watching tv, or surfing the web, or writing my blog, or reading, or checking Instagram, or texting, just about everyting!

Homework Tips

We all have to deal with this sooner or later, so let's get it done sooner!

Homework (n)- TORTURE ON PAPER!!!!!!! We all hate it, but we all have to deal with it SOME time in life, whether you're not yet in school, an elementary schooler, studying spelling homework, a middle/high schooler, desperately trying to avoid it (we've all been there), a college student trying to write a paper, or an adult reminiscing about school. This post is for you! Now lets jump right in.
Homework Tips
1) Find your space.
This might not sound important, but it is. Finding a space to chill, no distractions, is a great way to just hunker down and get 'er done. Mine is a small desk in the corner of my bright lime green bedroom. I either do my homework there, or at the kitchen table with my mom. Remember to have plenty of pens, pencils, and paper.

2) Don't work on an empty stomach! I can't express how important it is for you to have at least SOMETHING to eat before you do what you've got to do. You can't do your best when your stomach is growling and you're starving. Apples, peanuts, bread, or cheese are great meatless snacks for you vegetarians (my mom is a vegetarian, so it's veggie burgers, which I think are delicious, for dinner). Remember to eat foods filled with protein, which will fill you up. I like to chew gum when I'm doing hw, it keeps me from thinking about dinner.

3) Listen to music. For those who get distracted easily, this tip is not for you. But for those of you who don't mind music, read on! I can't do anything without music. I move to it, I dance to it, I'm listening to it while I write this! I like to listen to songs that pump me up to do homework, it takes a lot to get me excited about anything school-related (besides writing!), so if I listen to motivating music, it helps!

4) Don't forget to ask for help! When you need help, don't be afraid to FaceTime or Skype a friend for help! I always do this with my besties and even random guys in the class. And don't forget about the ones who created you! Your parents love you and will always be there, when friends might not.
